Cochrane Campbell Global Ageing Partnership and Cochrane Portugal recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This document strengthens their current collaboration, and aims at supporting further work to facilitate evidence-informed decision-making in the field of healthy ageing and longevity.

Although healthy ageing is a global challenge, cultural and contextual circumstances need to be considered when producing evidence products. Additionally, population ageing has evolved at varying paces around the world. Portugal is currently managing the societal challenges of a significantly aged population.

“Engaging with geographic groups offers excellent opportunities for developing fit-for purpose solutions. “said Monserrat Conde, Co-director and Field executive of Cochrane Campbell Global Ageing Partnership. “Working together with our colleagues at Cochrane Portugal will allow us to explore novel approaches, and integrate real world experiences from a context were ageing is a high priority. “

António Vaz Carneiro, Director of Cochrane Portugal, has several expectations for this partnership. “We believe that this type of cooperation sets the basis for increasing awareness and producing relevant high-quality evidence in the field of ageing, and we are looking forward to working together to achieve these goals.”

Both groups look forward to the next steps of their collaboration.
